try some other positions... sit up with a pillow by your side lay your baby so her feet are pointed behind you and her body is under your arm looking up at you, her head in your hand... like you are holding a football touch her cheek and her mouth should open really wide, then really quick clomp her onto your breast so her whole mouth is full... that is the only way my oldest would nurse for the first few months. he also liked to sit up facing me to nurse.
I'm still in the hospital, and she wont eat at all. I'm not good at this. she just look at me and cry. I dont know what she wants. I'm losing it. I want her to eat. this is too much.
renee
have the nurses help you they will send someone from the lactation center to your room.
she's learning what to do...the lactation specialists can help you out. I've had friends that said they helped their babies learn....you're in good hands, you're at the hospital!
Enjoy your baby =)
they wont let her go home until she eats. she has lost like 5 oz since she was born. i'm worried. she wont take the bottle or my breast. they just got done trying to help me so i dont know. maybe she just dont like me.
renee
renee, you have got to calm down and you need to stop saying that your baby doesn't like you... she's a newborn, she loves you PERIOD babies don't do things because they don't like someone. I think right now the hospital might be the best place for you. just love your baby and don't worry, the doctors will help you.
I'm not good at this at all. maybe i'm just fooling myself. i'm only keeping her for my own selfish reasons. she dont want me. i cant even fed her right. this is really upsetting....
renee
renee... seriously, listen to me... your baby is completely unable to decide that she doesn't like osmoene and is going to punish them SHE IS NOT AND CAN NOT DO THAT. she is premature? you are a mom now... i know it's scary but you have to pull it together, ask for help and do this.
you will get a moment of peace soon and you will look at her sweet face and you will see who she really is.
she keep crying, i keep crying. i only want her to eat. when the nurse get her she stop crying. When she gives her back she start back crying. i think I'm crying more than she is. my mom gets her and she stop crying. i'm trying to be calm but its upsetting she wont eat from me. she wont eat from anyone.

of COURSE your baby likes you!! your baby loves you... she is a baby and a baby cries. A baby doesn't cry to make you angry or be mean to you or to punish anybody... it is the only way they know how to communicate. a baby cries for anything they need... she can't say "my diaper is wet" she just knows how to cry.
call the lactation specialists at the hospital and ask them to hekp you... or just go to the store and get some formula and a bottle and give her a bottle... I know breatfeeding is best for a baby but it kills me to see so many moms put so much guilt on themselves that they are craying and not able to enjpy loving their baby and they constantly feel guilty... relax... love your baby... your baby can also feel your stress... if you can breath and relax then she might also.
I was about to do something awesome again, but I told myself, "Enough is enough! That's plenty of awesome for one day."
"They say that marriage is about making two lives into one... nobody told me that meant we both would end up becoming HIM"
